Our Story

Made Slowly.

BEGICAT was founded by an interior stylist with more than ten years of experience creating thoughtful, character-filled spaces.

The idea began during a mountain hike, where the flowing grain, warm tones and irregular forms of natural wood inspired her to imagine picture frames with a character of their own. By combining her design experience with an appreciation for organic forms, she began creating sculptural frames designed to become part of the artwork—and the room around it.

Crafted from solid Sapele or Burmese teak, every BEGICAT frame is carefully shaped, sanded and finished by hand. Natural variations in grain, tone and form make each piece beautifully individual.
